How notifications work on BookAuth — what you'll be notified about, managing preferences, and your activity feed.

Notification Types

Notification When It Fires
New Book An author you follow publishes a new book
ARC Campaign An author you follow launches an ARC campaign
ARC Status Your ARC application is accepted or rejected
Review Deadline Your ARC review deadline is approaching
Purchase Receipt You purchase a book
Club Activity New discussion in your book club

Viewing Notifications

Click the bell icon (🔔) in the top navigation bar to see recent notifications. Unread notifications show a badge count.

Managing Notification Preferences

Navigate to Settings > Notifications to control:

  • Email notifications — which events trigger emails
  • In-app notifications — which events show in the bell icon
  • Frequency — instant, daily digest, or weekly digest

Activity Feed

Your Dashboard shows an activity feed with:

  • Recent actions from authors you follow
  • Book club updates
  • ARC campaign deadlines
  • System announcements

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I turn off all notifications?
A: Yes. Set all notification categories to "Off" in Settings > Notifications. Critical notifications (security, account) cannot be disabled.

Q: Why am I getting emails I didn't expect?
A: Check your notification preferences. You may have subscribed to an author's newsletter separately.
