Colson Whitehead, born on November 6, 1969, is an accomplished American novelist recognized for his impactful storytelling. His debut novel, *The Intuitionist*, was published in 1999, followed by critically acclaimed works such as *The Underground Railroad*, which earned him both the National Book Award for Fiction and the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, and *The Nickel Boys*, which garnered him a second Pulitzer Prize. In addition to his novels, Whitehead has authored two nonfiction books and was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship in 2002.
