Buying books on BookAuth is simple and secure. This guide walks you through the purchase process, explains how to access your downloads, and covers what to do if something goes wrong.

Buying a Book

Step 1: Find Your Book

Browse the catalog, search by title/genre, or visit an author's page:

• Browse — filter by genre, popularity, or recent releases
• Search — type a book title, author name, or keyword
• Author page — view all books by a specific author

Step 2: Click "Buy Now"

On the book detail page:

• Review the book synopsis, cover, and reviews
• Check the price
• Click "Buy Now" (or "Download Free" for free books)

Step 3: Checkout

For paid books:

1. Enter your payment information (credit/debit card)
2. Apply a discount code if you have one (enter in the "Promo Code" field)
3. Review the total
4. Click "Complete Purchase"

For free books:

• Click "Download Free" — no payment required
• The book is added to your library instantly

Step 4: Download

After purchase:

• You're redirected to the download page
• Click "Download ePub" or "Download PDF"
• The file downloads to your device

Accessing Your Library

All purchased and downloaded books are in your library:

1. Navigate to "My Library" from the reader sidebar
2. See all your books organized by:
   • Recent — most recently purchased
   • All Books — complete library
   • By Author — grouped by author
3. Click "Download" on any book to re-download the file

Pro Tip: You can re-download your purchased books unlimited times. If you lose the file, get a new device, or need a different format — simply visit your library and download again.

Receipts

After every purchase, BookAuth sends a receipt to your email:

• Purchase date and time
• Book title and author
• Amount charged
• Payment method (last 4 digits)

You can also view past receipts from Settings > Purchase History.

Using Discount Codes

If an author gave you a discount code:

1. Add the book to checkout
2. Enter the code in the "Promo Code" field
3. Click "Apply"
4. The discounted price is displayed
5. Complete checkout at the reduced price

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is my payment information stored?
A: Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. BookAuth never stores your full card details.

Q: Can I gift a book to someone?
A: Book gifting is planned for a future update. Currently, you can share a discount code with someone.

Q: Can I get a refund?
A: Yes. Refund requests within 14 days of purchase are honored. Contact support or visit Settings > Purchase History.

Q: What format do I get?
A: You receive the format uploaded by the author (ePub or PDF). The available format is shown on the book page.

Q: Can I read the book in my browser?
A: Books are downloaded as files (ePub/PDF). Use any e-reader app (Apple Books, Calibre, Adobe Reader) to read them.
