How to view, upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your BookAuth subscription plan — and what happens to your content when you change plans.
BookAuth offers three subscription tiers. This guide covers how to manage your subscription, what each plan includes, and what happens to your content and data when you upgrade or downgrade.

Viewing Your Current Plan
Navigate to Settings > Subscription to see:
- Your current plan name and pricing
- Renewal date
- Usage stats (pages, blog posts, subscribers against limits)
- Payment method on file
Upgrading
- Navigate to Settings > Subscription
- Click "Upgrade"
- Select your target plan (Pro or Business)
- Enter payment method (or confirm existing)
- Click "Confirm Upgrade"
What Happens When You Upgrade
- Features unlock immediately — no waiting period
- You're charged the prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period
- Higher limits take effect instantly — more pages, blog posts, subscribers
- Lower platform fees apply to all future sales from the upgrade moment
Downgrading
- Navigate to Settings > Subscription
- Click "Change Plan"
- Select the lower plan
- Review the impact summary (what you'll lose access to)
- Click "Confirm Downgrade"
What Happens When You Downgrade

| Books | All books preserved (no limits on books) |
| Pages | If you have more pages than the new limit, excess pages are hidden (not deleted) |
| Blog Posts | If over limit, excess posts are hidden (not deleted) |
| Subscribers | If over limit, no new subscribers until you're under the limit |
| ARC Campaigns | Excess active campaigns are paused |
| Email Sequences | Excess sequences are paused |
| Custom Domain | Disconnected; website reverts to .bookauth.com |
| Custom CSS | Preserved but not applied until you upgrade again |
Pro Tip: Nothing is ever deleted when you downgrade. Content is hidden or paused, and fully restored if you upgrade again.
Cancellation
How to Cancel
- Navigate to Settings > Subscription
- Click "Cancel Subscription"
- Select a cancellation reason
- Confirm cancellation
After Cancellation
- Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period
- After expiration, your account reverts to the Free plan
- All your content is preserved under Free plan limits
- Stripe connection remains active — you can still receive payouts for existing sales
- Your author website remains active on the Free plan features
Reactivating
You can reactivate at any time by navigating to Settings > Subscription and choosing a plan.
Billing FAQs
Q: Is there a free trial for Pro or Business?
A: There is no free trial currently. However, the Free plan is fully functional — you can try BookAuth without any cost before upgrading.
Q: Can I pay annually for a discount?
A: Annual billing with a discount is planned for a future update. Currently, plans are billed monthly.
Q: What payment methods are accepted?
A: All major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover) through Stripe.
Q: Is there a refund policy?
A: If you're unsatisfied, contact support within 14 days of your subscription start for a full refund.
