Searching & Filtering Your Book Catalog
How to search, filter, and sort your book catalog in the author dashboard to quickly find and manage any book.
As your catalog grows, finding specific books quickly becomes essential. BookAuth's catalog management page provides search, filtering, and sorting tools to help you manage hundreds of titles efficiently.

Accessing Your Book Catalog
Navigate to Content > My Books from the author sidebar. This is your central catalog management page.
Search
The search bar at the top of the My Books page allows instant text search:
- Search by title — type any portion of the book title
- Search by tag — search matching tags
- Real-time filtering — results update as you type (no need to press Enter)
- Clear search — click ✕ to reset the search and show all books
Filtering
Use the filter controls to narrow your catalog view:
By Status
- All — show every book
- Published — only live, publicly visible books
- Draft — only hidden, work-in-progress books
By Genre
- Select from the genre dropdown to show only books in a specific genre
- Useful when managing genre-specific promotions or ARC campaigns
By Series
- Filter to show books belonging to a specific series
- Helpful for verifying series completeness and order
Sorting
Sort your catalog by clicking column headers:

| Title | Alphabetical (A-Z or Z-A) |
| Created Date | Newest first or oldest first |
| Updated Date | Most recently edited first |
| Status | Group by Published/Draft |
Catalog Views
The My Books page supports two view modes:
List View (Default)
Shows books as rows in a table with columns for:
- Small cover thumbnail
- Title (clickable to edit)
- Status badge (Published / Draft)
- Genre chips
- Created date
- Actions (Edit ✏️, View 👁️)
Grid View
Shows books as visual cards with:
- Large cover image
- Title overlay
- Status badge
- Quick-action buttons
Toggle between views using the view switcher icons in the top-right.
Bulk Actions
For managing multiple books at once:
- Select books using the checkboxes on each row (List View)
- Choose a bulk action from the dropdown at the top:
- Change status (Draft/Published)
- Add to a series
- Apply genre tags
Quick Book Access
For fast access to recently edited books:
- Your Dashboard shows your most recent book activity
- The "+ New Book" button is always visible at the top of the My Books page
- Use browser bookmarks for frequently edited books
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I search by ISBN or ASIN?
A: Search currently covers title and tags. To find a book by ISBN, use the browser's find function (Ctrl+F / Cmd+F) on the page.
Q: Is there a maximum number of books that can be displayed?
A: The catalog page uses pagination. You can navigate between pages or adjust the per-page count.
Q: Can I export my book catalog?
A: Catalog export is available on Pro and Business plans. Navigate to Analytics > Data Export.
