Common Pages to Create
About Page
Every author website should have an About page. Include:
- Your author story (how you started writing)
- Your genre specialties
- Personal details that make you relatable (pets, hobbies, location)
- A professional photo
- Links to your social media
Contact Page
Make it easy for readers, media, and professionals to reach you:
- Email address (or contact form if available)
- Social media links
- Business inquiries vs. reader messages
- Response time expectations
FAQ Page
Address common questions from your readers:
- "When is the next book coming out?"
- "Will there be a sequel to [Book Title]?"
- "Do you offer signed copies?"
- "Can I get an ARC of your upcoming release?"
Events/Appearances Page
If you attend book events, conferences, or signings:
- Upcoming event schedule
- Past events gallery
- How to request an appearance
Managing Existing Pages
Editing a Page
- Navigate to Website > Pages
- Click the page title to open the editor
- Make your changes
- Click "Save"
Changing Page Order
Pages appear in your navigation in the order they're arranged. Drag and drop pages in the Pages list to reorder them.
Deleting a Page
- Open the page
- Click "Delete" (usually at the bottom or in a menu)
- Confirm deletion — this is irreversible
Pro Tip: Consider setting a page to "Draft" instead of deleting it. This hides it from your live website while preserving the content in case you need it later.
Page SEO
Each page has SEO fields:
- Meta Title — defaults to the page title if not set
- Meta Description — a 150-160 character summary for search engines
- Social Image — the image shown when the page is shared on social media
