Pricing Strategies

The Perceived Value Rule

Always show the savings clearly. Readers buy bundles because they feel like they're getting a deal.

Individual prices:
  Book 1: $4.99
  Book 2: $4.99
  Book 3: $4.99
  Total if purchased separately: $14.97

Bundle price: $9.99
Savings: $4.98 (33% off)

Common Pricing Approaches

Strategy Bundle Discount Best For
Mild 10-15% off combined price Established series with strong demand
Standard 20-30% off Most series and thematic bundles
Aggressive 40-50% off Backlist revival, clearance
Loss Leader 60%+ off Building readership for a new genre

Minimum Bundle Price

The bundle price must be at least $0.99 (same as individual book minimum).

Types of Bundles

Series Bundle

Package an entire series in reading order. Most common and highest converting.

Thematic Bundle

Group books by theme rather than series: "Summer Beach Reads Bundle," "Spooky Season Collection."

Starter Bundle

Combine the first books of multiple series: "Try All My Worlds — Book 1 of Every Series."

Holiday/Seasonal Bundle

Limited-time bundles for specific occasions: "Valentine's Day Romance Bundle."

How Bundles Appear to Readers

  • Bundles have their own listing page showing all included books
  • The savings amount is prominently displayed
  • Readers can see individual book covers, synopses, and reviews
  • One-click purchase adds all books to the reader's library

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can a book be in multiple bundles?
A: Yes. The same book can appear in as many bundles as you like.

Q: If a reader already owns one book in the bundle, do they get credit?
A: Currently, bundles are all-or-nothing. The reader purchases the full bundle regardless of individual ownership.

Q: Can bundles include books from different authors?
A: No. Bundles can only include books from your own catalog. Multi-author bundles are planned for a future update.

Q: Do discount codes work on bundles?
A: Yes. A discount code that applies to "All books" will also apply to bundle purchases.
